About DriveQuiz

DriveQuiz is a driving theory quiz you play live with friends and family, each on your own phone. This page explains who makes it, how it earns money and how to reach us.

Who makes DriveQuiz

DriveQuiz is made by Fri Vei AS, a private limited company in Froland, Norway. We make one app with two names: Kortklar in Norway, for the Norwegian theory test, and DriveQuiz in the UK and the US. The questions are written separately for each country, because the tests and the laws are different. We never translate questions from one country to another.

One app, two names. DriveQuiz and Kortklar are the same app: in the App Store (app id 6824519902) and on Google Play (com.kortklar.app) it is listed in English as “DriveQuiz: …” and in Norway as Kortklar. Its English-language website is drivequiz.app; the Norwegian one is kortklar.app.

What DriveQuiz is

A theory test quiz you play live. Everyone answers the same question at the same time, each on their own phone. Right answers score points, and faster right answers score more. After each question everyone sees the right answer and a one-line reason.

The person who starts a game uses the DriveQuiz app, coming soon in the UK. Friends without the app join from their browser at play.drivequiz.app. Players only need a nickname: no real names, no photos and no chat, and a game code stops working after two hours.

On this website you can practise now, free and without signing up: one 50-question mock theory test, topic samples drawn from 55 of our 325 checked questions, Highway Code quizzes and a road signs quiz.

What it is not

DriveQuiz is not the theory test, and our questions are not the real test questions. We do not use the DVSA’s revision questions or hazard perception clips, and we do not have access to them. DriveQuiz does not include hazard perception practice.

No driving instructor has reviewed our questions, and no government body has reviewed, approved or endorsed DriveQuiz. We never claim to be official, and we never promise that you will pass. How we make our questions explains what we do instead.

How we make money

When the app is out, playing the live quiz will be free. DriveQuiz Pro will be an optional one-off purchase of £9.99, not a subscription: Pro will keep your progress by topic and bring back the questions you got wrong until you get them right, with more mock tests and a daily practice set in the app. The App Store or Google Play shows the price before anyone pays. Everything on this website is free.

There are no ads, no countdown offers and no “only today” prices. The website uses no cookies, no analytics tools and no advertising tools.
