Play a theory test quiz with friends and family
Learning the Highway Code alone is dull. Racing your mum, your mates or your driving buddy to the right answer is not.
What you need
- The DriveQuiz app, to start a game. DriveQuiz is coming soon in the UK.
- Friends without the app will join when the app is out in their browser at play.drivequiz.app.
- 2 to 8 players, each on their own phone.
- A few minutes. A 10-question game is short enough for a tea break.
How a game goes
- Start a game. Pick a topic, such as road signs or stopping distances, and how many questions: 5, 10 or 15.
- Share the game code. Everyone else types the 6-digit game code or opens the link you send.
- Answer at the same time. Every phone shows the same question. You have 15 seconds by default.
- See why. The right answer lights up with a one-line explanation, so nobody is left guessing.
- See who won. After the last question the top three are shown on a podium. Tap play again for a new set of questions.
How the points work
A right answer is worth 1,000 points, plus up to 500 more for answering quickly. From your third right answer in a row, each right answer is worth one and a half times as much, until you get one wrong. A wrong answer scores nothing, but you never lose points.
Prefer a calmer game? Calm mode hides the countdown, gives everyone 30 seconds per question, and every right answer scores the same.
Safe for teenagers
- Nicknames only. No real names, no profiles.
- No chat and no friend lists.
- A game code stops working after two hours.
- The person who started the game can lock it so nobody new can join.
