Sources and image credits

Every fact on DriveQuiz US comes from a public source that we link on the page. This page lists the sources and credits the pictures.

The national sign manual

Sign and marking facts come from the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, 11th Edition (MUTCD), published by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Each sign page names the MUTCD sections it uses and links to the chapter.

DriveQuiz is not connected to FHWA, to any state driver licensing agency or to any government body.

Our drawings

The sign pictures and marking diagrams are our own simplified drawings, © Fri Vei AS. They are based on the MUTCD designs, which the MUTCD says are in the public domain (Section 1D.06). Real signs follow FHWA’s detailed Standard Highway Signs specifications, so our drawings are not exact copies. The MUTCD lists a few designs that are not in the public domain, including the Interstate shield, so we do not draw it. To ask about using our drawings, email hello@drivequiz.app.

Other sources

Texas sources

Our Texas pages and the Texas practice test use the Texas Transportation Code and other Texas statutes (Texas Constitution and Statutes), the Texas Driver Handbook from the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the parent-taught driver education pages of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. DriveQuiz is not connected to either agency.

Our questions

Every quiz question on this site is written by us from these sources, with AI help, and checked against them. They are not questions from any state’s permit test. How we make our questions explains the process and what has not been done, such as a review by a driving instructor.

Each guide and sign page lists the exact sources it uses and the date we last checked them.
