For parents of teen drivers

Your teen is getting ready for a learner’s permit. You want to help, but you took your test years ago. That is exactly who DriveQuiz is for.

How you can help

Play a short game together. Ten questions take a few minutes. Afterward you both see which topics need more practice, so you know what to talk about on your next practice drive. You might find you’ve forgotten a few rules yourself.

Which states are covered?

Texas, so far. Every state writes its own permit test and handbook, so we add states one at a time. For Texas there is a guide to the Texas permit test, including parent-taught driver education, and a Texas practice test. For other states, the all-states practice test covers what every state shares; use your state’s official driver handbook for the rest. Our guide to graduated driver licensing explains the stages most states use.

What it costs

Safety and privacy

What DriveQuiz is not

DriveQuiz is not an official DMV test and is not connected to any state agency. Our practice questions are written by us from public sources such as the national sign manual (MUTCD) and, for Texas, the Texas statutes and driver handbook. No driving instructor has reviewed them: read how we write and check them. Always check your state’s official handbook.

This website has 45 different questions: a 25-question all-states test and a 40-question Texas mock that shares 20 of them. Our checked US bank has 279 questions. The DriveQuiz app is coming soon with the full bank, live games and saved progress with Pro.
